Acupressure and the Meridians
Tui Na is a form of Chinese medical massage that incorporates acupressure, massage and manipulation. Acupressure has been used for centuries to promote health and healing, with its origins dating back to ancient China. It works by stimulating specific points on the body, known as acupoints, which are located along the meridians. These meridians are channels of energy, known as qi, which flow through the body and connect the zang fu organs, through the 12 primary meridians and the collaterals. By applying pressure to these points, the qi is balanced and the body is able to heal itself.
